The ransom note details money denominations, but seems to neglect Charley in-the normal way a kidnapper would deal with the parents, and their love for Charley. The note seems to write off Charley as a predicament rather than a loved child that is to be exchanged for money. The note not only is written by English thinking person trying to mimic German words, but gives the impression of being written by a household member trying to fake a reasonable kidnap letter, but without thinking it out properly like demands that would be made by a real kidnapper,(for instance if parents desire the retun of their child) and would state a definite plan of return and money exchange not the see-saw story we see.
The nursery being found missing of employee fingerprints tell the story of the accident-disappearance happening on another day. There was a cabinet extending several inches above the widow sill that only allowed approximatly 10 inch access of the lower frame of the 36 high window. The shutters were closed and the ladder claimed to be placed to the right side, but it is impossible to open a shutter from the outside right or left and climb around the shutter for access.
Most people who read about the case with pre-convictions about Hauptmann's guilt ignore the fact there was no kidnap as claimed that night. It could be possible for the kidnapper wearing gloves not to leave fingerprints, but it was not possible for the room to be fingerprint free with Betty Gows and Anne stories of checking on Charley within an hour of the kidnap. Also forgotten is the fact that no Hauptmann fingerprints were found on the ladder every one claims he made, but on which over fifty other unknown fingerprints plus Lindbergh's were.
I gave up on this site because prople ignore facts that make the story told impossible, but then make their own version to comply with a guilty verdict.
Facgts:
1.No Hauptmann fingerprints on ladder even though many others were found.
2. You cannot open a shutter from the side of a window to gain access.
3. No employee fingerprints found in the nursery even though family and employees claimed had visited the room.
4. There were only two footprints in the mud below the window but fanatical claims say the ladder broke where are the break prints or child falling prints.
5. For those that dont know you go up and down a ladder leaving two seperate sets of the same prints.
6. The ransom note used ridiculous phony German, Germans do not mispell words their words as they are mistaken by English speakers.
7. Kidnapper claimed a year in planning but had no plan for exchange because it was hastily put together after an accident as various souces have rightly stated.
8. New York Time article in private colletion had Elizabeth Dwights' wife call her sister cutter to quickly come to Engelwood to discuss what she knew about the kidnapping. The aricle is dated the same day as kidnap why did she think her sister had information.
